Hello again! I was thinking today about loss.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and work to their Ethical Framework. You may be interested to know more about this and can find it on their website at http://www.bacp.co.uk. You can also find out more about my background on www.andreaberry.co.uk
I can offer you face to face counselling on a weekly basis short or open ended contract.
To make initial contact please follow the prompts on my website to either email me or telephone.
Confidentiality is a two way agreement
In working together we are setting up a relationship that is confidential. From my point of view our counselling sessions are kept on my password protected computer for as long as we are working together. I will remove all information from my computer after a period of 6 months has elapsed with no contact with you and store this information for a further 2 years (in case you wish to return to counselling during that time) on an encrypted memory stick or external hard drive which is kept in a locked cabinet in my office.
I work to the guidelines for Good Practice for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am registered as a controller of sensitive data under the Data Protection Act (Reg. no Z2697085) and comply with their recommendations for storing sensitive data. Sensitive data includes our counselling emails or chat transcripts and any notes I make about our work.
I expect you to treat our counselling sessions with the same level of confidentiality and I trust you not to reveal any of the work we do together on any website or blog to which members of the public have access. Your identity and personal details will be protected by me and the only exceptions I will make are when I judge that there is serious risk to yourself or others or when I am compelled to by Law. In the rare event that I break confidentiality, this is done with your prior knowledge (where possible) and only to people who absolutely need to know (e.g. doctors). I have regular supervision of my online work but I do not disclose your identity to my supervisor.
It is not always possible to know if the type of models that I use for counselling are the most appropriate for you to get help. If I felt that another counsellor was better placed to help you than I am (because they had specialised skill or experience) I would suggest a change and support you whilst you made it.
The charges for my counselling are set out on my website www.andreaberry.co.uk
Payment can be made using one of the following methods:
Pay pal (secure payment online for debit and credit card)
Internet bank transfer: Please ask for my details of my bank account if you want to make a direct payment into it. Or cheques made payable to A Berry.
If you feel you need emergency assistance, this service is not for you. Instead please contact your local A&E Department, or alternatively contact The Samaritans.
